People talk
“ There's usually a one, but it goes quickly since there's usually 2-3 servers behind the steam tables. They serve ample amounts of good food so the price is more than fair! ”
“ A Fountain Valley gem that has been around for decades. My absolute go to for Chinese food, the only take out place that I'll frequent and that comes to mind. The portions are huge! Always packed to the brim and pricing is very fair. Used to be cash only but they do accept card now with a 3% surcharge. Can't go wrong with the house chicken or orange chicken with fried rice and chow mein. The ladies working here are always delightful even when there's a long line. ”
“ CASH ONLY!!?? Are you kidding in this day and age? The food is pretty good but you got to stop at the bank to even think of going here which is ridiculous. So I pass by here 8-10 times a week because I don't have any cash.... Nobody has cash anymore!!! Buy a vowel, start taking cards! THIS IS AN UPDATE! THEY TAKE CARDS NOW!!! THERE'S A 3% SURCHARGE WHICH IS RIDICULOUS BUT I ENJOY THE FOOD... 4 STARS ”
“ Soooooo goood! If you're all about portion control, this is NOT the place for you. They pack their plates so go goood! You can even buy one for a family dinner. Everything is pretty fresh. My favorite is the house special chicken, and string bean beef! Must haves! Standing in line I've seen a lot of people order the bbq pork as well as the fried squid! Next time for sure. It's always so packed, so the lines take a little while. But like they say nothing worth having comes easy. The line is nothing too major. They move as fast as they can, and they're very attentive and sweet ladies. The place is clean, their bathroom clean, overall I love this place. And the price doesn't break the bank or leave a hole in your wallet! ”
“ For $12 they do stuff your to-go container with lots of food. I didn't even finish mine. My husband also didn't finish his - that's how much food they give you. Lots of meat with the veggies. This resto doesn't take credit cards so be prepared to have cash. Service was fast and we got there around 2:39 pm and there's a lot of empty trays. I don't know when they fill them up or if they do fill them up but go during lunch time or around 5. Maybe there will be more choices available for you. ”
“ The GOAT for Chinese take out! The food here is solid, price low, and portions generous. We come here often and there's always a line because the food is so worth. Highly recommend getting your fix here! ”
“ Prices have gone up. It's now $10 for a one item but they still load it up! One thing I did find out is that they offer catering! Here's the list with prices ”
“ I thank the hubs for introducing this place to me many moons ago! This is still our "go to" spot for Chinese take out. I still remember though when a 2-item combo back in the day cost less than $8 bucks! (((sigh))). We happened to be in the area, so it made sense to stop by and pick up some grub before fighting the traffic back to San Clemente. It was 4:30pm and the line was almost out the door. The friendly ladies at the counter are pretty efficient and keep the line moving fairly quickly. Cute little logo as you look up while waiting inside...lol! You can't go wrong with any of their dishes, and my 2-item combo tonight was half fried rice and half chow mein. My side choices were the eggplant with tofu (stir fried with oyster sauce), and the fried chicken wings (awesome meat-to-bone ratio and very well seasoned). The portions are huge (definitely shareable), and it amuses me watching them shut the overflowing styrofoam box without breaking it! NOTE: Cash only. ”
“ Best Chinese express food I've had for the price. Not a single item I've tried that I wouldn't recommend, and I've tried more than half of the items. Don't be afraid to get three items and turn the meal into two meals. Honestly everything is bomb. Yeah sure it can be greasy and heavy, but you no one should look at a Chinese express food place and not expect that. This place often has a line, but it tends to go relatively quick. Because Lucky has a line most of the time, the food ends up being actually pretty fresh. I've also done catering with lucky and that's also been a 5 star experience. The small-sized catering option is surprisingly a lot and a couple of those or even a couple of mediums should cover your party. Everyone really enjoyed the entrees we got and wanted to take them home. Can't recommend this place enough. Also, it is cash only, so just come prepared (though there is an ATM onsite). ”
“ After all these years and Lucky Chinese Food is still going strong. Lucky is probably one of the better Chinese food spots in the area. It's a cash only establishment that stuffs their containers. It's hard to come here when it isn't busy so be prepared to wait in line. The last time I came here was to order for 8 people and I got a lot of food. I got about 10 containers and spent about $120. We had plenty of leftovers and everyone was satisfied. What I enjoy about Lucky is their stir fry noodles are one of the best. The rice is good too but the noodles are unmatched. The orange chicken we experienced was over fried and over battered. The Kung Pao chicken had a slight off taste but everything else was good. My favorite is their green bean beef. Their food did satisfy everyone and it was definitely hit the spot. ”
